Since the Mirror newspaper published photos of British soldiers allegedly torturing an Iraqi prisoner a number of army sources have questioned the authenticity of the images.

The paper claims British soldiers handed over the photos. Soldiers close to the regiment the Queen's Lancashire Regiment have joined former commanders and army intelligence officers in claiming the pictures could have been faked. The Mirror is standing by the testimony of the two soldiers, known only as A and B, who gave them the photos.
